This Privacy Policy explains how SharkMe Infotechno Private Limited ("SharkIT", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use sharkit.in and the SharkIT apps (together, the "Platform").
1. Information we collect
- Account details — name, email, phone number, and role (founder or investor) when you register or join the waitlist.
- Business & verification data — company identifiers (CIN, GSTIN), financial statements retrieved from MCA filings, GST-OTP verification records, and documents you upload for KYC or valuation.
- Usage data — device information, log data, and how you interact with pitches, deals, and messages on the Platform.
- Payment data — processed by our payment partner (Razorpay); we do not store your card or banking credentials.
2. How we use it
- To operate the marketplace — matching founders and investors, displaying verified financials, and generating AI deal scores.
- To verify identity and business ownership through government-backed rails (MCA, GSTN).
- To communicate with you about your account, deals, and product updates.
- To improve the Platform, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.
3. What we never do
- We never sell your personal or financial data to third parties.
- Your financials and documents are visible only to you and the parties you explicitly connect with — never to other users by default.
- We do not use your private deal data to advertise to you elsewhere.
4. Data security
Financials, KYC documents, and chat threads are encrypted at rest and in transit. Access within our team is restricted and audit-logged. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required under applicable law.
5. Sharing with third parties
We share data only with service providers necessary to run the Platform — such as verification providers, IBBI-registered valuers you engage, cloud hosting, and Razorpay for payments — each bound by confidentiality obligations. We may disclose information where required by law or a valid government request.
6. Your rights
You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and withdraw consent for non-essential processing, by writing to support@sharkit.in. We respond within the timelines prescribed by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
7. Data retention
We retain your data while your account is active and as required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified on the Platform or by email, and the "Last updated" date above will always reflect the current version.
